A fire left unattended goes out. Every single time.
Doesn't matter how big the blaze was when you lit it. Doesn't matter how much wood you stacked or how hot the coals burned. If nobody tends it, it dies.
Your faith works the same way.
Proverbs 4:23 isn't just about avoiding sin — it's about active maintenance. Guard your heart. That's a verb. It requires effort, attention, and daily commitment. You don't guard something by ignoring it.
When was the last time you tended the fire in your spiritual life? Not just showed up to church, but actually fed the flame? Opened the Word when nobody was watching? Prayed when you didn't need anything? Sat in silence and let God speak?
The fire in your pit needs wood, airflow, and attention. The fire in your soul needs Scripture, prayer, and obedience.
Today's Challenge: Spend 10 minutes today in the Word with zero distractions. No phone. No podcast in the background. Just you and God. Tend the fire.
